School Meals

The meals are cooked on the premises Normandy Village School by our provider Twelve15. There is a wide variety of dishes representing very good value for money.

Meals must be paid for in advance through Scopay where you can also make meal choices from the menu.  Bookings must be made by midnight the day before, except for special events where a deadline will be advised by the school. Absences will, of course, be credited. If you think you qualify for free meals, please get in touch with the School Office. The school has been advised by Surrey County Council to warn parents that if they persistently send a child to school with no food or money then they may be reported to the local welfare officer for child neglect.

Surrey Commercial Services have their own website dedicated to school meals and healthy eating: Twelve15 (itstwelve15.co.uk).

Children in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 receive Universal Free School Meals funded by the Government.

From September 2024 the cost of a meal will be £2.80.

Special Dietary Requirements

If your child has a special dietary requirement, please contact the school office.

Packed lunches from home

We very much appreciate parents sending children to school with a clearly named, healthy packed lunch and a drink if they are not eating a school meal.

If you need any examples of a healthy lunchboxes these can be found at https://www.nhs.uk/healthier-families/recipes/healthier-lunchboxes/

Nut-Aware

We know it is very hard to eliminate nut products completely but we do take steps to make our school 'Nut-Aware'.

While the majority of allergic reactions to nuts are mild, for some children, eating these foods (even in tiny amounts) may cause serious reactions, which can be life threatening. As you will know, some children may even have a reaction after just touching contaminated surfaces, or breathing in airborne nut protein.

We thank you for your co-operation and request that you do not include nuts, or any traces of nuts, in packed lunches, such as:

  • Peanut butter or Nutella sandwiches

  • Fruit and cereal bars that contain nuts
  • Chocolate bars or sweets that contain nuts
  • Sesame seed rolls (children allergic to nuts may also have a severe reaction to sesame)
  • Cakes made with nuts
  • Any home cooked meals for packed lunches that are made from nuts

If items containing nuts are found in your child's lunchbox they will be stored safely and sent home at the end of the day with your child.
