Children's Area: Wellbeing
We would like to support children at school and home with not only their curriculum studies but also their emotional wellbeing. We have a number of activities on the website to provide ideas on how the children can consider their emotions and encourage a positive outlook.
Some of these resources are used by our Emotional Literacy Support Assistants (ELSAs) in school. An ELSA is a trained teaching assistant who delivers an individualised support programme to meet the emotional needs of children. It recognises that children learn better and are happier in school if their emotional needs are also addressed. This intervention is now widely implemented by educational psychologists across Britain.
